Exhibition in the Fort

Exhibition in the Fort

The morbid charm of the horseshoe-shaped cloister vault of Fort A in Minden provided the perfect background for the presentation of my reportage “A Knight rises”. From 1st to 3rd July 2016 the second edition of “Fort Art 2.0″ a group exhibition with many visual artists and creative characters took place in the originally preserved part of the former fortifications. In addition to the visual attractions “baker boy” Axel Koch and “The Green Cabbage Jazz Combo” took care of elaborate enjoyment.fortA_ausstellung-2

Traditional Costumes

Traditional Costumes

Schaumburger traditional costumes came out of fashion in the early 20th century. They disappeared as everyday clothes but still survived in traditional costume and dance clubs.
How could a modern version of the traditional Schaumburg costume look like? Fashion students at the University of Hanover have found answers. The illustrated book „Nach Neuem Trachten“(Traditional costumes newly construed – Schaumburg fashion photography – ISBN 978-3866744035) contains elaborately staged fashion photographs of noble, modern, young and funky versions of the Schaumburger traditional costumes, which were designed by the young fashion designers.
As the only resident of Schaumburg among the photographers I contributed the landscape photographs next to fashion photos.

Exhibition Impressions

Exhibition Impressions

Despite heavy thunderstorms and downpours many adventurous people and culture seekers started out to the Bückeburg Culture Night and visited my exhibition “A Knight Rises”. I especially enjoyed the conversations about the photographs, the current knight’s life and photography in general. Thanks to all visitors for their large attendance. Keep it up!
Due to the exhibition I could learn identity of the stranger on the cover. Only so much, it is not an resident of Bückeburg.
Many thanks to Arne Koets for tournament helmet, lance, sword, valuable awards, etc. Without these things exhibition would not be complete.
During opening hours  I will be present . I am looking forward to many visitors and either conversations.

Exhibition in Bückeburg

Exhibition in Bückeburg

Arne Koets is one of about twenty professional tournament riders in the world competing in medieval jousting against each other strictly under historical rules, with authentic armor and saddles, on particularly trained horses and with solid lances. Truly a genuine Knights Tournament – no stunt shown, no drama. In 2011 Arne Koets moved to Bückeburg/Germany to learn the artistry of medieval cavalry together with his Spanish gelding Maximilian at the Fürstliche Hofreitschule (Spanish Riding School) Bückeburg.
Last year I accompanied the native Dutch five month with my camera. The photo reportage “A Knight Rises” is now shown in Bückeburg.
